Manila, April 27 -- Twenty-seven villages in Naga City will receive PHP200,000 each from the Presidential Support Fund, Mayor Leni Robredo announced on Monday.

Speaking during the city's flag-raising ceremony, Robredo said half of the amount is earmarked for a scholarship program for five graduating students per barangay, or PHP20,000 in assistance per student.

"The scholarship is for graduating students or, if needed, third-year students, because the goal is to produce more college graduates," Robredo said.

"Malacanang does not want the usual PHP3,000 assistance but rather PHP20,000, so only five scholars will be covered under the program," she added.

The remaining PHP100,000 will be used to purchase essential equipment.
