24 rescued from collapsed structure in Pampanga
Manila, May 24 -- At least 24 persons trapped in a nine-story building that is still under construction in Angeles City, Pampanga have been rescued Sunday, according to the Angeles City Information Office.
Central Luzon Police chief Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez went to the area to check on the incident following reports of the collapse at around 3:45 a.m. along Teodoro Street in Barangay Balibago.
Mendez ordered police personnel to assist in traffic management and securing the area as search and rescue operations continue.
Personnel of the nearest police station responded and provided area security, while members of the fire department and emergency medical team are also present.
