1.5K SIM cards, digital parenting orientation given to Davao schools
Manila, Aug. 21 -- Aiming to bridge the digital divide, the Department of Information and Communications Technology-Davao Region (DICT-11) shared Friday that a total of 1,548 SIM (subscriber identity module) cards have been distributed to schools in Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental.
On Aug. 19, DICT-Davao del Sur distributed 617 SIM cards to Jose F. Lanoza Elementary School (197) and Bulacan Elementary School (420) in Malalag town.
"Beyond connectivity, parents were also given an orientation on Cybersecurity for Digital Parenting, promoting safer and more responsible digital practices for children and families," the agency said.
On Aug. 12 to 14, DICT Davao Occidental provided connectivity kits to key educational institutions.
