Manila, Aug. 30 -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon has relieved the maintenance department head of the Las Pinas-Muntinlupa District Engineering Office for "unsatisfactory performance."

In a memorandum dated Aug. 29 and made public on Sunday, the DPWH chief ordered the relief of engineer Loreto Balena Jr. effective immediately.

"In view of repeated reports concerning your unsatisfactory performance, lack of urgency and delayed response to calamities, you are hereby relieved of your duties as Maintenance Chief of the Las Pinas-Muntinlupa District Engineering Office, effective immediately," the order said.
