TACLOBAN CITY, July 17 -- Strengthened coordination between law enforcement and school authorities led to the recovery of suspected illegal drugs from a 14-year-old Grade 9 student inside a public high school in Javier, Leyte on Thursday.

In a statement Friday, police identified the child in conflict with the law (CICL) only by the alias "CMC," in compliance with laws protecting the identity of minors.

According to the Javier Municipal Police Station (MPS), the incident occurred at around 9:20 a.m. at Javier National High School in Poblacion Zone I, Javier, Leyte.
