Manila, March 12 -- Most parts of Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao will experience rains on Thursday, the weather bureau said.

"The northeast monsoon (Amihan) will cause rains over a significant portion of Northern Luzon. It is also the reason why we are experiencing colder temperatures compared to the previous days," Loriedin Galicia of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

PAGASA forecast rains across Batanes and Babuyan Islands, and light rains over the rest of Cagayan Valley Region, Aurora, Apayao and Kalinga due to the northeast monsoon (amihan).
