The company is introducing Playlist Notes, a feature that lets its playlist editors explain the thinking behind major playlists. Editors can discuss why a song was selected and what makes it culturally relevant.

That adds another layer to music discovery. Instead of simply seeing a list of tracks, listeners can get some insight into the editorial judgment behind the selection.
