India, April 28 -- Just two days back Sony was reportedly rolling out new DRM strategy for all the digital PS4 and PS5 games purchases on PlayStation Store. Now, this has been confirmed by PlayStation Support and the new DRM policy is hence a reality, not a technical glitch. Digital Rights Management(DRM) is technology used by hardware manufacturers, publishers, and copyright holders to control how digital content (music, movies, games, documents) is accessed or shared or changed by the users. It aims to prevent piracy and unauthorized distribution by encrypting content or enforcing usage rules. Disney+, and Spotify use DRM to ensure content can only be viewed within their apps, restricting screen recording and unauthorized downloads.
