India, Sept. 2 -- Sonos has packed plenty into its latest launch, but the real shift is happening behind the hardware. Sonos 27 is built around making speakers, soundbars, headphones, and controls work more closely as one system.

The company is moving past the usual upgrade cycle where each new device stands on its own. Instead, Sonos wants existing and new products to take on more roles depending on where they are, what is playing, and how users want to listen.

Beam Ultra and Ace Ultra fit into that strategy. They bring new hardware, but their bigger role is in how they connect with features such as AI control, portable surrounds, and direct audio handoff across the Sonos system.
