India, Sept. 9 -- Samsung has launched an aggressive newspaper advertising campaign for the Galaxy Z Fold8 just before Apple's September 9 event. One advertisement prominently claims that the Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at Rs.76,999, while another promotes an EMI starting at Rs.4,500 per month.

At first glance, the offer appears to be a massive reduction from the Galaxy Z Fold8's listed price of Rs.1,79,999. But the Rs.76,999 figure is not a direct price cut available to every buyer. It depends heavily on exchanging an expensive older foldable phone.
