India, April 15 -- Rockstar Games data files were earlier hacked by a notorious group ShinyHunters and they had placed a ransom demand of $2,00,000 for keeping the data safe. However, Rockstar Games failed to pay the ransom and the files were leaked by the hacker ShinyHunters on the dark web. ShinyHunters accessed data through a vulnerability in third-party tool Anodot linked to Rockstar's Snowflake database, releasing over 78 million records of player metrics and revenue on April 13 after Rockstar rejected a $200,000 ransom.
