Riot Vanguard may finally stop haunting your taskbar
India, June 25 -- Riot Games is giving some PC players a little more breathing room. Vanguard, the company's anti-cheat system for games such as League of Legends and VALORANT, will soon support an optional on-demand mode on PCs that pass modern security checks.
That means Vanguard's driver will not need to launch when Windows starts on eligible systems. Instead, it can start when a Riot game opens and stop after the play session ends. For players who have long wanted less always-on software in the background, this is a neat little win.
The main point is choice. Riot says players do not have to change anything. Anyone who wants Vanguard to keep running as it does today can leave the setup alone.
