India, July 3 -- Nintendo's latest Mario Kart World update is not the kind of patch that changes the game overnight. It is more useful than that. Version 1.7.0 adds new Knockout Tour routes, expands photo mode, and quietly adjusts the race systems that decide whether a player can recover after one bad hit or fall out of the pack for good.

The free update, now available on Nintendo Switch 2, adds Drill Rally and Boomerang Rally to Knockout Tour. Both routes appear for players who have completed at least one rally in the mode.
