India, Sept. 21 -- The iPhone 18 Pro packs more hardware into the same external dimensions as its predecessor, but that tighter engineering may make some repairs harder. An iFixit teardown found major changes to cooling, cameras, Face ID, and battery capacity, along with a possible weak point around the display.

The main repair headache starts with the screen. Technicians have to remove it to reach many internal parts, and that step appears easier to get wrong than before.

iFixit damaged the plastic support frame around the display on three of the four iPhone 18 Pro-series devices it opened. That does not prove a widespread design fault. Other teardowns did not report the same problem, and Apple has used a similar frame since the iPhone...
