India, Sept. 8 -- The PC industry's next performance battle may be decided somewhere other than the CPU. Hardware shown around IFA 2026 points to a broader shift in which memory architecture, local AI acceleration, power efficiency, and cooling increasingly determine what a computer can actually sustain.

That matters because headline processor speeds no longer tell the full story. A fast chip can still be constrained by memory bandwidth, heat, battery limits, or software that cannot use its accelerators effectively. The emerging PC is becoming a tightly integrated system rather than a collection of independently upgraded parts.
