India, Oct. 12 -- Google has updated its Pixel VIPs widget as part of the September 2026 Pixel Feature Drop. Pixel VIPs 2.0 adds one-tap calling and texting, notification badges and easier switching between favourite contacts, making it quicker for Pixel users to reach their closest contacts from the home screen.

The update is rolling out to Pixel 6 and newer devices. The widget also retains features such as recent communication details, local updates and reminders for important dates.

When Pixel VIPs first debuted, the widget helped users keep their favourite contacts close, with details such as recent messages, birthdays, location sharing and notes. However, users had to open a contact's card and then select a communication option.
