India, July 21 -- Google Photos has added a simple escape route for moments when its artificial intelligence search gets things wrong. Users can now switch between Gemini-powered Ask Photos and the app's classic search results with a single tap after entering a query.

The change is small, but the message is clear: AI search works best as an option, not a forced replacement for fast, indexed retrieval.
