India, July 28 -- The Flipkart Freedom Sale is being promoted as another Independence Day shopping event. But this year's sale could be different. Reports suggest Apple may increase iPhone 17 prices in India by around Rs. 12,000, making the timing of this sale far more important than a routine discount event.

Flipkart has confirmed the iPhone 17 will see a price drop during the Freedom Sale starting August 8, though the exact discounted figure hasn't been revealed yet. Community deal-tracking platform DesiDime shows the iPhone 17 previously dropped below Rs. 69,255, while another recent sale saw it priced around Rs. 70,900.
