India, Oct. 19 -- ConnectWise has suspended its Cloud Backup service following a security breach that allowed attackers to gain unauthorized access to Microsoft 365 customer environments. The shutdown has interrupted scheduled backups and prevented customers from restoring existing archives while the company investigates the incident.

On October 17, 2026, ConnectWise disabled seven affected application identities and revoked their connection certificates. The company also temporarily suspended Cloud Management and SaaS Security services.

ConnectWise maintains that stored backup archives remain encrypted and preserved, with no evidence of unauthorized access to the archived data.
