India, June 11 -- This is what is missing from every headline about the Apple-EU Siri AI dispute. This was no deadlock negotiation. The European Commission said it was a negotiation that Apple didn't even bother with. The result is that roughly 450 million European users will miss out on Siri AI at launch, despite it being Apple's biggest Siri upgrade yet.

Apple proposed launching Siri AI in Europe over a period of 18 months.
