India, Sept. 9 -- Apple could join the foldable smartphone market with its 2026 iPhone lineup. The first foldable phone from Apple is widely expected to feature a book-like design that will allow it to be used like a pocketable iPad.

The official product name remains uncertain. Earlier reports referred to the device as the "iPhone Ultra," while a late report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, cited by The Verge, points to "iPhone Duo." Apple has not confirmed either name.

It is expected to combine ultra-thin engineering, custom 2nm silicon and iOS software optimised for a larger display, creating a new premium multitasking device.

Apple's foldable is expected to have a wider aspect ratio than the narrow, tall foldables available today.
