Apple claims iPhone 18 Pro verifies photos better than Android: Is it true?
India, Sept. 16 -- In an age of rapidly changing generative AI, it is becoming difficult to determine whether a photograph is authentic. Apple's solution comes with the iPhone 18 Pro series in the form of Apple Reference Image, an opt-in camera mode designed for verified photography.
The Cupertino tech giant claims its approach provides stronger security and privacy protections than existing image-provenance systems based on the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity, or C2PA, standard. Apple has explained the architecture in detail on its Security Research blog.
