India, June 10 -- Last year, Apple unveiled Liquid Glass with iOS 26, introducing Apple's biggest visual redesign in years, splitting the iPhone community in two. 50% of users enjoyed the translucent, layered visual design that brought the iPhone screen to life and made it seem three-dimensional. The other half found it very difficult to read, very tiring on the eye and very hard to customise. At WWDC 2026, Apple - without actually saying it - acknowledged the second group was right with new iOS 27 Liquid Glass controls.

Liquid Glass is built using Apple's Metal graphics framework and is based on the concept of lensing, or bending and focusing the background content through a glass surface instead of just blurring it. As seen across tab ...
