India, Oct. 6 -- Android Auto may be heading for another compatibility reset, and this time Android 10 appears to be in the firing line. Some Android 10 users are reporting warnings that their phones "will no longer be supported" because they cannot update to the Android version Android Auto will require.

Google, however, has not announced a new minimum Android version or a cutoff date. Its current support documentation still says wired Android Auto requires Android 9 or newer, while wireless projection generally requires Android 11.

That difference between Google's published requirements and warnings appearing on some devices suggests a transition may be approaching rather than a completed policy change.
