India, Aug. 27 -- For commuters and travellers who instantly feel queasy when looking down at a smartphone in a moving car, Android 17 is introducing a built-in option designed to help.

The new Motion Assist feature has begun appearing on select Pixel phones running Android 17, placing subtle visual cues along the display edges to make reading, browsing or streaming while travelling more comfortable.

The arrival of Android 17 Motion Assist brings a native alternative to Apple's Vehicle Motion Cues, introduced on iPhones with iOS 18 in 2024. It gives Android users a way to address passenger motion sickness without completely giving up screen time.
