India, Sept. 15 -- Artificial intelligence infrastructure has been dominated by one question: how much compute can an organization secure? New research suggests the next constraint may sit elsewhere. Enterprises are generating and retaining more AI-related data, but many are not fully prepared to store, govern, and use it efficiently.

Seagate's 2026 Data Infrastructure Readiness Report found that 99% of surveyed enterprise technology decision-makers expect AI to increase storage requirements within three years. Only 38% consider their organizations fully prepared for AI's long-term data demands, while 32% expect storage requirements to grow by more than 50%.
