Punjab, Oct. 5 -- Swiss President Guy Parmelin is on a state visit to India from 5 to 7 October. He was given a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning and held talks with Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House.

What is on the agenda

Trade and investment, science, technology and innovation, mobility, culture and people-to-people ties.

Parmelin will also attend the second India-EFTA Prosperity Summit, marking the first anniversary of the TEPA trade agreement coming into force.

EFTA - the European Free Trade Association - is Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. It is not the EU, which is the detail most coverage skips.
