Punjab, Sept. 23 -- The Election Commission rejected reports of an internal rift over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls on Wednesday, saying every final decision taken by the full Commission has been unanimous.
What prompted it
An Indian Express investigation reported that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had recorded at least 14 objections over ten months to decisions and orders linked to the SIR exercise.
The Commission's response was that suggestions by commissioners are aimed at improving the electoral process, that around 40 initiatives and several reforms have been introduced in the past year, and that all of it came from unanimous decisions of the full Commission.
