Punjab, Sept. 23 -- The Sensex closed 299 points higher at 74,828 and the Nifty added 118 to 23,447, recovering the ground lost on Tuesday a day before the NSE lists.
Back above where it broke
Tuesday's session snapped a four-day run, with the Nifty closing at 23,329 after IT was downgraded on demand concerns. Today put the index back above 23,400.
Two sessions that cancel each other out is not a trend in either direction. It is a market that has stopped falling and has not found a reason to go anywhere.
What is actually holding it up
Crude, mostly. Brent has come down from nearly $110 at the peak of the Saudi pipeline scare to around $102, as about half the East-West line's capacity is restored.
