Punjab, Sept. 15 -- Lenskart has raised its stake in Dimension NXG, the parent of AR headset maker AjnaLens, to 9.01% after investing a further Rs 8 crore. Its total investment now stands at Rs 18.5 crore, up from a 4.84% holding since July 2025.
Why an eyewear company buys into AR
Lenskart sells things people wear on their face. So does an AR headset maker. Stated that plainly, the logic is less exotic than it first appears.
The bet is that at some point the categories converge - that a meaningful share of eyewear eventually carries a display, and that the company which already owns Indian eyewear distribution, retail footprint and prescription data would rather hold a position in that transition than watch it.
