Punjab, Sept. 27 -- Shayad Yahi Hai Pyaar premieres on JioHotstar on 28 September - a Hindi romantic drama about a 35-year-old woman rebuilding after leaving a toxic relationship, who then falls for a younger man.
The premise is the notable part
Indian streaming romance is overwhelmingly about people in their twenties meeting for the first time. A 35-year-old protagonist leaving a marriage, and an age gap running the other way, is a configuration Hindi television has historically treated as a villain's subplot rather than a lead's story.
Whether the show handles it or flinches from it is the only thing worth watching for. The setup has been attempted before and usually resolves into the woman being punished by the plot.
