Punjab, Sept. 28 -- India is targeting $1 trillion in combined goods and services exports in 2026-27 - about $530 billion in merchandise and $470 billion in services. Last year's total was a record $863.11 billion.

The arithmetic

Getting from $863.11 billion to $1 trillion needs another $137 billion - growth of roughly 16 to 17% on goods and 10 to 11% on services.

Last year's growth was 4.6%.

That is the whole difficulty stated in two numbers. The target requires merchandise exports to grow more than three times faster than they did in the year just finished.
