Punjab, Sept. 16 -- India on Wednesday condemned a drone attack near Makkah, calling the incident "particularly concerning" given the city's significance to Muslims worldwide. Saudi air defences said they intercepted and destroyed a drone south of the holy city on Tuesday.
What India said
The Ministry of External Affairs reiterated its condemnation of attacks on Saudi sovereign territory and of actions that endanger civilian lives and infrastructure, and called for the early restoration of peace and stability in the region.
The Houthis have rejected the allegation, describing the claim of an attack on Makkah as a "worn-out lie".
