Punjab, Sept. 10 -- India beat Bangladesh by 40 runs in the first semi-final of the Women's Asia Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday night, reaching the final for a record tenth time.

India posted 149 for 6. Shafali Verma made a half-century, 50 off 35 balls with five fours and two sixes, and Deepti Sharma finished the innings with 13 off six deliveries - a late burst that turned a defendable total into an awkward one.
Bangladesh's bowlers had kept them in it, Rabeya Khan among those to hold India down through the middle overs. The chase never got going.
