Fall 2: Deadpoint strands its cast 5,000 feet up, in a year owned by two giants

Fall 2, Sept. 11 -- Deadpoint, a survival thriller from the Spierig Brothers, released on September 11. It stars Harriet Slater, Arsema Thomas, Tom Brittney, Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey.

The premise

A climb goes wrong. A rockslide strands the group roughly 5,000 feet up on the planks of Mount Kwan, and the film proceeds from there.

Survival thrillers built on a single constrained location are among the most reliable bets in mid-budget Hollywood. The set is small, the cast is small, the tension comes from geometry rather than spectacle, and the budget stays contained. When they work they return several times their cost; when they do not, they have not cost much.
