Drishyam, Sept. 29 -- The Conclusion has sold more than 1.5 lakh tickets for its opening day and crossed Rs 10 crore in advance three days out - ahead of where Drishyam 2 was at the same stage. It opens on 2 October.
The numbers
Advance collections have passed Rs 8.9 crore against Drishyam 2's Rs 6.93 crore in presales, and about 80,500 tickets have gone across national chains - roughly 63,000 at PVR INOX and 17,500 at Cinepolis.
The trade is tracking an opening of Rs 50 crore, with Rs 60 crore possible.
Why the advance is unusually strong
Thrillers do not normally front-load. Audiences turn up for a thriller after someone tells them it is good, which is why the genre tends to build over a weekend rather than open on one.
