Punjab, Sept. 9 -- The 2026 Indian wedding season is moving decisively toward lighter bridal wear. Brides are choosing elongated, fluid lehenga cuts in chiffon, organza and silk-linen blends, with corset blouses, curved necklines and sculpted shoulders replacing the heavily embellished blouse.
Embellishment is getting finer, not heavier
Instead of dense sequin work, the shift is toward fine, hand-placed crystals that create movement and light play without overwhelming the fabric. Ombre lehengas are prominent, and the gradient reads especially well in outdoor and golden-hour ceremonies.
The reason is practical
