WEH Ventures announced the first close of its third fund, targeting Rs 250 crore to back 20 to 25 early-stage companies.

Fund closes matter more than individual rounds for reading a market. A round tells you one company convinced one set of investors. A first close tells you that limited partners - the people whose money this ultimately is - are still willing to commit capital to Indian early-stage for the next four years.
