Tonga PM calls for Climate adaptation investment, says resilience is Pacific's top security challenge
Fiji, June 30 -- Tonga Prime Minister Lord Fatafehi Fakafanua has called for greater investment in climate adaptation, saying Pacific Island countries face their biggest security challenge from climate change and need support to build resilient infrastructure, strengthen economies and prepare communities for a changing climate.
Speaking to Net Zero Investor, Lord Fakafanua said climate change has shaped Tonga's development priorities because of the country's vulnerability as a small island developing state.
