Fiji, Nov. 3 -- Solomon Islands Prime Minister Matthew Cooper Wale is recovering well following medical treatment in Australia and expects to return home this week to resume his official duties.

Wale thanked the people of Solomon Islands for their prayers, support and well wishes during his medical treatment.

"Your prayers have carried me," Wale said, expressing gratitude for the support he received from across the country.

"I am pleased to inform my good people of Solomon Islands that I am recovering well and feeling much better following my medical treatment here in Australia," he said in a statement,

He said he looked forward to returning home and continuing his work as Prime Minister.
