SIS Leaders urged to turn 2025 decisions into action
Fiji, Aug. 31 -- Pacific Islands Forum Secretary General Baron Waqa has urged Small Island States (SIS) leaders to turn decisions made last year into practical action, as Palau takes over the chairmanship of the grouping.
Addressing the Small Island States Leaders Meeting in Koror, Waqa congratulated Palau on assuming the chair and acknowledged Kiribati for its leadership over the past year.
"At the outset, allow me to congratulate Palau on achieving the chairmanship of the Small Island States and acknowledge Kiribati for its leadership over the past year," Waqa said.
He said the matters before leaders were aimed at implementing decisions taken in 2025.
