Pacific Ministers call for stronger financing to tackle gender-based violence
Fiji, Aug. 14 -- Forum Foreign Ministers are calling for stronger and more sustainable financing for gender-based violence prevention, while backing new regional action on disability rights, health, education and early childhood development.
Ministers agreed that lack of sustainable financing remains the main barrier to expanding gender-based violence prevention programmes across the Pacific.
The issue was among the key outcomes of the 2026 Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting in Suva last week, where Ministers reviewed progress on people-centred development and regional efforts to advance gender equality and social inclusion.
