Fiji, Sept. 23 -- The Coalition Government has defended the pace of Fiji's constitutional review process, rejecting criticism that it has been rushed.
The Constitutional Review Commission's (CRC) report moves to its next stage with its discussion in Parliament.
Acting Attorney-General Siromi Turaga said the process was not rushed and defended the Government's position as the elected representatives of the people.
Asked whether there had been enough public consultation by the CRC,Turaga said: "Much better than the 2013 Constitution."
He said the CRC report could not be released publicly before being presented to Parliament because it formed part of the process for the President's award to Parliament.
