Fiji, Oct. 15 -- Dick Stanley Pirione has been sworn in as the new Ombudsman of Solomon Islands, filling the vacancy left by the death of former Ombudsman Fred Fakarii earlier this year.

Pirione took his Oaths of Office and Allegiance before Governor-General Sir David Tiva Kapu at Government House on Wednesday.

A seasoned public servant and former permanent secretary, Pirione brings 25 years of experience in the Solomon Islands Government Public Service, including 17 years at the executive level.

His experience spans several government ministries, giving him extensive knowledge of public administration, governance systems and institutional operations.
