Fiji, Aug. 14 -- Cook Islands caretaker Prime Minister Mark Brown has thanked voters, candidates, volunteers and supporters following the country's latest general election.

Brown said he was filled with gratitude to everyone who turned out to vote and take part in the democratic process.

"Today my heart is full of gratitude.

"Thank you to everyone who came out and voted, for taking part and making your voice heard. This is what makes our country strong," Brown said.

Brown also thanked the people of Takuvaine-Tutakimoa for again placing their trust in him.

"To the people of Takuvaine-Tutakimoa, thank you for placing your trust in me once again. I don't take this lightly and will keep working for you and your families," he said.
