Fiji, Sept. 17 -- Australia's Joint Standing Committee on Treaties has recommended binding treaty action on air services agreements with Kiribati and Nauru, alongside a similar agreement with Cambodia and a defence procurement agreement with NATO.

The committee tabled a report recommending that Australia proceed with four treaties, including agreements establishing the legal framework for scheduled international air services between Australia and Kiribati and Naoero.

The agreements with the two Pacific island countries are intended to provide a legal foundation for scheduled international air services between Australia and each country.
