Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- A violent altercation broke out between two families in Salakania village under the Nandipada police station limits in Odisha's Keonjhar after a deceased woman's family alleged foul play and halted her immediate cremation on Saturday.

The scuffle, which was captured on a widely circulated video, occurred directly in front of the house where the body of the woman was kept for final funeral rites. The clash ensued after the deceased woman's parental family intervened with police assistance to ensure a post-mortem was conducted before the funeral could take place.
