Bhubaneswar, May 13 -- A youth from Sundargarh district in Odisha is suspected to have died following an alleged group assault, with family members accusing local slum residents of murdering him.

The deceased has been identified as Babulal Dungdung, a resident of Padajampali village under Rajgangpur police limits.

According to reports, Babulal had gone along with his wife on Sunday to attend a social function at Ranibandh Dhobapada area in Rajgangpur. During the night, an altercation reportedly broke out between him and some local slum residents for reasons yet to be established.
