Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- A youth was critically injured after an unidentified person allegedly slashed his neck with a knife following a dispute over a lift at Khandara Chhak under Hinjili Police Station in Ganjam district on late Friday night.

As per reports, the victim has been identified as Uddhab Padhi. The incident occurred a short distance from Padhi's residence while he was travelling along the road.

According to reports, a youth tried to stop him and asked for a lift. When Padhi refused, the assailant pulled his motorcycle from behind as he attempted to leave. The enraged youth then slashed Padhi's throat with a knife.

Bleeding heavily from the injury, Padhi held his neck and managed to run back to his home nearby to seek help. ...
