Bhubaneswar, Sept. 20 -- A woman allegedly died after being subjected to dowry-related harassment at Adabandha village under Itamati police station in Nayagarh district on Saturday. Her family accused her husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law of killing her.

According to reports, Laxmipriya Barik married Danda Pani Barik of Pratap Prasad village six years ago. Her family alleged that she had faced harassment from the day after her marriage.

Laxmipriya was staying at her parental home for the past three to four months due to the alleged harassment. Her family said that she was recently persuaded to return to her in-laws' house after her brother-in-law assured them that she would not be subjected to further physical abuse.
